What do U think another illegal another life taken Millard County deputy shot, killed?

July 4th, 2010 Melanie No comments

Police searching for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Millard County sheriff’s deputy did not find the man in a Salt Lake City shed Tuesday morning and now have added a second person of interest in the case.

Deputy Josie Greathouse Fox was gunned down about 1 a.m. Tuesday during a traffic stop a mile east of Delta, and a statewide manhunt for the suspect had narrowed down to a few blocks of west Salt Lake City.

However, police used tear gas in a shed and travel trailer where Roberto Miramontes Roman was suspected to have been and found no one inside. Roman is described as a 37-year-old Latino, 5-foot-7, 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

The second person of interest is Ruben Chavez Reyes, a 36-year-old who may know or may have assisted Roman, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Nigbur.

Police found a gray 1995 Cadillac Deville connected to the men in Nephi and are headed there to process it for prints and other evidence.

Fox, a mother of two, had been with the Millard County Sheriff’s Department five years. Her body was found by a second deputy, who was responding to her request for backup.

Roman is possibly armed with an AK-47 assault rifle, and is considered dangerous. Anyone with information on Roman’s whereabouts is urged to immediately call 911.

“We have information that he’s not going to be taken alive,” Nigbur said.

Roman has a significant criminal history, including drug offenses, and a court-ordered illegal immigration-related deportation.

Millard County officials said the suspect vehicle, an orange Corvette, had been stopped as part of an investigation into recent thefts. The suspect had sped away from the scene by the time the second deputy arrived.

The search the suspect quickly focused to Salt Lake City, where police found a vehicle — believed to be the Corvette — near 300 South and 1100 West.

By 7 a.m., SWAT officers were seen in the area of 300 South and 1100 West. Two local elementary schools — Guadalupe and Franklin — were closed and traffic through the area blocked while officers went door-to-door, searching for the suspect.

Nigbur said three SWAT teams were deployed in the area, focusing on “two or three” homes believed to be occupied by relatives of the suspect. No neighborhood evacuations were immediately ordered, however.

Roman has a criminal history beginning in 1992 with a misdemeanor drug distribution charge to which he pleaded guilty in Fillmore’s 4th District Court.

Then in 1996 and 1997, Roman was charged in Millard County with a handful of felonies in two different cases, including drug charges, receiving stolen property and a weapons count.

He resolved the cases by pleading guilty to one count of third-degree felony drug possession and one count of second-degree felony drug possession with intent to distribute.

Utah Board of Pardons and Parole spokesman Jim Hatch said Roman was sentenced to prison for up to 15 years in June 1997.

Roman was released into the custody of immigration authorities on Sept. 15, 1998, and deported.

Court records show that at the time the crimes were committed, Roman was a resident of Delta. All three cases were investigated by the Millard County Sheriff’s Office.

Meanwhile, in Millard County, law enforcement ordered closure of U.S. 50 in both directions just east of Delta as their investigation into the slaying got under way this morning. The road has since been reopened, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

What do you think Judge orders force feeding of illegal immigrant arrested for domestic violence case?

June 29th, 2010 Melanie No comments

A Haitian immigrant may have put a face to ongoing rumors about a hunger strike among illegal immigrants at the Port Isabel Detention Center.

Immigration officials filed a federal lawsuit to force feed inmate Kenson Lima.

Court records show the 26-year-old immigrant was rushed to the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen over the weekend.

U.S. District Court Judge Hilda Tagle in Brownsville sided with immigration officials and ordered that Lima be given medical care and fed intravenously to save his life.

Lima is now back at the immigration center infirmary but records show he started his hunger strike on June 23rd.

The Haitian immigrant collapsed a few days later while taking a shower at the Bayview-area facility.

A motive for the hunger strike is not listed but immigration officials said in court records that he refused food, water and medical attention.

Court records show doctors determined Lima does not suffer from any mental illness but during one incident, Lima refused to even let doctors take his pulse or take blood samples.

Immigration officials reacted by asking the Judge Tagle to intervene and give him the authority to save his life even if it was against his will.

Action 4 news looked into the Haitian immigrant’s background and learned arrived in the United States legally in 2003.

But Lima was ordered for deportation after being arrested for domestic violence case in Florida.

The Haitian immigrant is fighting the deportation and has a scheduled hearing on the case on Monday.

And noTerrorist are not limited to just planes. My question is if illegal aliens are able obtain legal documents why then couldn’t terrorists do the same thing ?Weare at a war on terror are we not ? Wouldn’t these documents be on interest to terrorists????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????And why weren’t the women arrested ? BANGOR, Maine—A New Jersey faces charges following his arrest for allegedly bringing illegal aliens to Maine to get driver’s licenses.

more stories like thisAnderson Dos Santos, 30, of Newark, appeared in U.S. District Court on Thursday after being charged with harboring or transporting illegal aliens. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Dos Santos allegedly told a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent that it was well-known in the Brazilian immigrant community in New Jersey that it was easy for illegal aliens to get driver’s licenses in Maine. The state does not require proof of citizenship or proof of residency to get a driver’s license.

The ICE agent, who had been investigating illegal aliens coming to Maine to get licenses, made the arrest after finding Dos Santos and two women at a Bureau of Motor Vehicles office in Augusta, according to court documents.

The women admitted they were in the U.S. illegally, according to court records. They were taken into custody but not charged in federal court. Dos Santos was released on unsecured bail.

What do you think of a Federal Judge trying to censor the internet whistle blower website Wikileaks?

Story http://rawstory.com/news/2008/US_Court_shuts_down_leaked_doc_0218.html

Of course it was never “offline” just the DNS records were removed for only one name “wikileaks.org” at one registrar, they have many cover names to avoid any such futile attempts at censorship.

Like this one.
